POLICIES

1. Scheduling

All lessons are by appointment only.
Please arrive on time — sessions end at the scheduled time even if you arrive late.
Lessons can be rescheduled with 24 hours’ notice.

2. Cancellations

Please give 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Short-notice cancellations and no-shows make it difficult to accommodate other clients.
Repeated last-minute cancellations may require a non-refundable deposit before scheduling future lessons.

3. Payment

Lesson payments are due at the start of the session.
Board & Train payment is due at pick-up.
Cash, check, and digital payments are accepted.
No refunds for completed or partially completed services.

4. Safety & Behavior

All dogs must be current on vaccinations.
Dogs showing signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, lethargy) should stay home.
Reactive, fearful, and aggressive dogs are welcome — but honesty is required for planning and safety.
I may use slip leads, long lines, prong collars, e-collars, muzzles, or other tools when appropriate, always ethically and safely.

5. Training Tools

I recommend bringing:

A secure collar or properly fitted harness
A 4–6 ft leash
High-value treats
A crate (for Board & Train or behavior cases)

If you need help selecting equipment, please let me know.

6. Owner Participation

Your dog’s progress depends on:

Consistency
Structure
Practicing between lessons
Following the training plan given

Training doesn’t end when our session does! Your follow-through matters.

7. Minors & Guests

Children must be supervised at all times.
Please limit extra visitors during lessons for safety and focus.

8. Photos & Videos

I may take photos or videos of your dog for progress updates or social media.
If you prefer not to have your dog posted, just let me know.

9. Weather

Outdoor lessons may be moved or rescheduled during unsafe weather (heat, storms, etc.).
Safety comes first.

10. Insurance

Lead K9 Training LLC is fully insured for professional dog training services.
This protects both you and your dog throughout the training process.

11. Liability

By booking with Lead K9 Training, you acknowledge the inherent risks involved in working with dogs and agree to follow all safety guidelines.

12. Communication

Business Hours 9am-6pm

Updates and replies are sent during business hours only.
Messages sent outside these hours will be responded to on the next business day.

Update Schedule

For Board & Train dogs, updates are sent every other day to prevent repetitive updates and ensure the time I spend with your dog is focused and productive.
If anything urgent happens, you will be notified immediately.

Preferred Contact Method

Text is the fastest way to reach me.
Phone calls may not be answered if I’m with dogs or clients but will be returned as soon as possible.

Weekend & After-Hours Messaging

Non-urgent messages sent after hours, on weekends, or during personal time will be answered when business hours resume.

Emergency Situations

For true emergencies involving your dog currently in my care, you may call immediately.
If it is not an emergency, please text. Thank you!
